Last year, the American Library Association’s Office for Intellectual Freedom tracked 821 attempts to censor library materials and services with 2,452 unique titles challenged. While that number is down from 2022 and 2023, we still have plenty of unreported cases or censorship by exclusion.
Join Northland librarians as they celebrate Banned Books Week with a review of the history of book bans, discuss the current climate in libraries, and answer questions you have about this important issue.
Registration is required for this program and begins on September 1. You may register online, in person at the Ask a Librarian Desk or by calling 412-366-8100, extension 113.
