Program Description

Event Details

Photographer Michael Haritan shares personal photographs and videos of the 1986 catastrophe, giving a haunting documentation of the disaster site, a psychiatric institution and orphanage - enlightening audiences with a rare view of not just a disastrous event, but a place and the people who once worked and lived there. His trips to Ukraine in 2016 and 2018 provided research information about the nuclear accident – its causes, cover-up and consequences, and the release of radioactive material still affecting the health of millions of people and the environment.

Registration is required for this program and begins on February 1.  You may register online, in person at the Ask a Librarian Desk or by calling 412-366-8100, extension 113.
