Why Does My Child Struggle To Read? - an educational discussion led by Provident Charter School's Maria Paluselli, an area expert and national speaker on dyslexia and special education with an extensive background in reading and writing remediation.

Part 1 (9/4/2024): When Reading Just Isn't Easy for a Child This discussion will help demystify how children learn to read and help parents and caregivers understand how to support emerging readers. Specific reading skills and competencies along the literacy continuum will be explained as well as what to do when those skills are not developing at the appropriate grade level. More sessions to follow in 2025!

To help ensure that all parents who wish to attend are able to do so, a craft and story time for children ages 2 and up (who are able to separate easily from their parents) will be provided in the adjoining conference room.

Registration is required for this program and begins on August 15th. If your child or children will be attending this story time, please provide their name(s) and age(s) in the "additional accommodations" section of the registration form when you fill it out. You can register online or by stopping at the children and teens services desk.

Please feel free to contact Kim Pierson at piersonk@northlandlibrary.org with any questions.
