Week Calendar

Join us for Family Storytime! Come relax outdoors, and enjoy picture book stories perfect for children of all ages and their grown-ups. We’ll share stories, songs, and fun together in our beautiful garden space. 

Families with children of all ages are welcome to come on down to the library for building fun! Wooden blocks and Legos will be available for children to create whatever they can imagine. 

No registration required.

Children in grades kindergarten and up will get 10 minutes to read to a certified therapy dog.  Bring your own book or use one of ours!  

Bring a snack or your lunch and settle in as we read a new story together. Come discover your next favorite book during this relaxing lunchtime program. 

No matter what type of book you enjoy reading, you'll love talking about our monthly selections with fellow book lovers. 

Bring along a brown bag lunch to eat while chatting before we start our book discussion at noon. 

Mahjong is a tile-based game that was developed in the 19th century in China and has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century. Similar to the Western card game rummy, Mahjong is a game of skill, strategy, and luck.

Creative Mondays are here and tweens will learn a new craft skill. Children ages 8-12 years are invited to come learn a new skill. 

Each week we will work on a new craft skill. This week is Quilling

Putting pen(cil) to paper is the first step step in making the connection to how writing relates to literacy.

Gotta catch 'em all! Young Pokémon fans ages 3–6 are invited to join us for an hour of Pokémon playtime adventures. We're going to have blocks, toys, and games to play with new friends! 

Teens ages 12-18 can join us for an hour of artistic expression and crafting!

Calling all Pokémon Trainers! We're challenging Trainers ages 6–13 to come and dive into the Pokémon world with us. Trade and show off your cards, tackle a fun Pokémon-themed activity, and test your skills with Pokémon games!

Join food enthusiasts at Northland's cookbook club! Home cooks of any skill level are welcome as we explore dishes from various cookbooks.

From current events to nature and science to interesting historical stories, join other nonfiction readers the first Tuesday of each month to discuss books on a wide variety of topics. 

This month's selection: 

THERE HAS BEEN A MURDER!!! Can you figure out who the culprit is before they strike again? Teens ages 12-18 are invited to take on the persona of murder suspects for this after-hours mystery. 

NPLA Board Committee Meeting will have both virtual and in-person options. Registration is required for virtual attendance only. Members of the public wishing to attend in-person do not have to register.
